Statement on Changes to Subscription and Other Agreements Concerning the Processing of Personal Data, Including for Direct Marketing Purposes

The Personal Data Protection Service would like to inform the public about recent changes made by companies to subscription and other types of agreements involving the processing of personal data, including the use of such data for direct marketing purposes.

We urge you to carefully review the above-mentioned issues indicated in the contract (or its amendments) and to provide your consent only after doing so.

Please be reminded that personal data may only be processed for direct marketing purposes with your prior, informed, and freely given consent. Consent is not valid if the data subject is denied a genuine choice—such as being pressured to consent or facing negative consequences for refusal. Furthermore, if consent is presented as a non-negotiable condition within terms and conditions, it cannot be considered voluntary or freely given.

In case your personal data is being processed unlawfully, you can file a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Service either in written (address: N 10 Pushkin St. / N. 7 Vachnadze St. / N 2 Tabukashvili St., Tbilisi) or electronic form (in signed and scanned/photo format) to the official email address: office@pdps.ge.
