A meeting was held in Gori to discuss the changes outlined in the new law of Georgia regarding “Personal Data Protection”.

The meeting was attended by the relevant personnel responsible for data protection within the administration of the State Representative of the Shida Kartli, as well as representatives from the self-governments (City hall/Municipal assembly) of Gori, Kaspi, Kareli.

The meeting was also attended by Simon Guledani, the acting State Representative of Shida Kartli and Davit Razmadze, the Chairman of the Gori Municipal Assembly.

The changes provided by the new law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection” were introduced to the attending audience by the Head of the Public Sector Oversight Department Ketevan Kratsashvili, Head of the Department of the Planned Inspections, Sofio Shamugia and Head of The Law Enforcement Sector Oversight Department, Ia Kipiani.

The speakers discussed in detail the changes provided by the new law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection”. Specifically, recommendations were presented to public sector employees regarding the issuance or updating of internal legal acts within public institutions to ensure compliance with the new law.

The meeting was held in an interactive mode, providing attendees from the public with the opportunity to receive detailed information on topics of interest to them.

We remind you that the main part of the new law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection” entered into force on March 1, 2024. In order to familiarize with the changes provided by the new law, The Service continues to hold trainings for public and private institutions, as well as for any person interested in data protection.
