The First Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Service participated in the meeting of International Working Group on Data Protection in Technology (“IWGDPT”) (Berlin Group)


The First Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Service, Dr. Otar Chakhunashvili, and the Head of the President's Office, Nikoloz Popiashvili, participated in the 73rd meeting of the International Working Group on Data Protection in Technology (IWGDPT) on June 17-18 in Oslo, Norway.

The International Working Group focuses on current trends and challenges in the field of technology. It assesses issues related to personal data protection, identifies risks and difficulties, and implements preventive measures to address them.

Representatives of supervisory bodies from various countries participated in the meeting to share practices. They presented special reports containing news relevant to the discussed issues.

Dr. Otar Chakhunashvili, First Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Service, informed participants about the implementation of the new Georgian law "On Personal Data Protection", the sharing of European standards and values, and the practical challenges posed by modern technological achievements
