The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia conducted training for private sector data protection officers in Adjara.

During of the information-practical meeting Officer of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, Tengiz Mamulia, discussed the changes stipulated by the new Law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection”, emphasized the role of data protection officers (DPOs), spoke about their functions and obligations, and gave practical advice to the attending public to consider in their activities.

It should be noted, that the amendment of on personal data protection officers entered into force on June 1, which imposed the obligation to appoint/designate an officer for public and certain private organization.

The meeting was conducted interactively. The Personal Data Protection Service will to hold information meetings and trainings in the future in Tbilisi and other regions of Georgia.
