A course for Personal Data Protection Officers has began
The Institute of Administrative Sciences at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in cooperation with The Personal Data Protection Service began a course for Personal Data Protection Officers.
The course was officially opened with a welcome speech from the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University – Dr. Tamar Zarandia.
The President of the Personal Data Protection Service also addressed the participants of the course. Prof. Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili focused on a data protection officer institute and the importance of their role. “Establishment of data protection officer institute is especially important as it brings The Georgian data protection legislation closer to European standards and significantly strengthens the protection of data subject rights.” - Said The President of the Service.
Prof. Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili introduced the Heads of various Departments and the Data Protection Officer of the Service, who will be delivering lectures as part of the course.
The attendees were also addressed by the First Deputy Head of the Personal Data Protection Service – Dr. Otar Chakhunashvili.
At the first meeting, Professor Paata Turava introduced details of the course and other technical issues to the present audience.
It is worth noting that the Institute of Administrative Sciences at Tbilisi State University will issue certificates to participants upon completion of the course.
