The representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service participated in International Working Group on Data Protection in Technology
The representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service participated in the 74th meeting of the International Working Group on Data Protection in Technology (“Berlin Group”). The event was hosted by the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) at the European Parliament building. The meeting took place in Brussels, Belgium.
The Personal Data Protection Service was represented by Archil Javelidze - Head of the Private Sector Oversight Department, Beka Meladze - Lawyer of the Private Sector Oversight Department, Nino Khubulia - Coordinator of International Relations and Legal Matters of the Department of International Relations, Analytics and Strategic Development and Nino Tsagareishvili - Researcher-Analyst of the Department of International Relations, Analytics and Strategic Development.
During the meeting, participants discussed important topics such as: digital identity and privacy, neurosymbolic artificial intelligence, neurodata processing by using modern technologies, machine learning, etc.
The participants of the “Berlin Group” had the opportunity to share their experiences on technological progress. In order to share practices (experiences), the representatives of personal data supervisory authorities from different countries, including the Personal Data Protection Service, presented reports, including news, related to the discussed topics.
It is important to mention that the Personal Data Protection Service will host the 75th meeting of “Berlin Group”, which will discuss current challenges and trends of in the protection of personal data and privacy.
