Representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia participated in “European Case Handling Workshop” (ECHW)


From December 4 to 6, 2024, representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia attended the “European Case Handling Workshop”, organized by the Estonian Personal Data Protection Supervisory Authority in Tallinn, Estonia.

The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia was represented by Nino Khubulia - Coordinator of International Relations and Legal Matters of the Department of International Relations, Analytics and Strategic Development, Irakli Leonidze - Researcher-Analyst of the Department of International Relations, Analytics and Strategic Development and Aleksandre Rogava - Legal Matters Specialist of President’s office of Personal Data Protection Service.

During the workshop, participants discussed key and complex topics relevant to supervisory authorities, such as the implementation of video surveillance, data protection impact assessments, artificial intelligence, and significant decisions made by supervisory bodies.

The Georgian representatives delivered a presentation on the legislative and practical aspects of regulating the legal relationship between data controllers and data processors.

The workshop brought together representatives from personal data protection supervisory authorities from approximately 30 countries, providing a platform for valuable exchanges of knowledge and best practices in the field.
