A meeting was held between the Representatives of the Data Protection Service of Georgia and the National Data Protection Authority of Brazil


On 11 December, an introductory online meeting took place between representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia and the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Protection of Brazil.

The meeting was attended by Ana Tokhadze, Head of the International Relations, Analytics, and Strategic Development Department of the Personal Data Protection Service; Nikoloz Popiashvili, Head of the President's Office; and Lika Kobaladze, Head of the Legal Department.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the mandates and competences of their respective personal data protection supervisory authorities, national legislation, international cooperation, and sectoral trends. Particular emphasis was placed on the impact of artificial intelligence on personal data protection and the increasing relevance of data processing through information technologies across various sectors. The discussion also included plans for potential joint activities and the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Georgian Personal Data Protection Service and the National Data Protection Authority of Brazil.
