A meeting was held in the city of Rustavi to provide an overview regarding the changes outlined in the new law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection”.

Representatives of the service met with the representatives of the self-government of Kvemo Kartli (City halls of Rustavi, Gardabani, Bolnisi, Marneuli, Tsalka, Dmanisi and Tetritskaro) and staff of the administration of the State Representative of Kvemo Kartli.

The Head of the Law Enforcement Sector Oversight Department, Ia Kipiani, the Head of the Legal Department of the service, Lika Kobaladze and the Deputy Head of the Legal Department, Shavleg Todua presented to the audience the novelties of the new Law of Georgia "On Personal Data Protection". In order to ensure the compliance of public institutions with the new Georgian law, the representatives of the Service also gave recommendations to the persons employed in the public sector on the issuance/updating of internal legal acts.

We would like to remind you that the main part of the new Law of Georgia "On Personal Data Protection" came into force on 1 March. In order to familiarize with the changes provided by the new law, the Service continues to hold trainings for public and private institutions, as well as for all stakeholders.
