The Representatives of the service introduced the changes outlined in the new law “On Personal Data Protection” to the employees of the Administration of the Government of Georgia

Within the framework of the general course on data protection legislation, the Head of the President's Office - Nikoloz Popiashvili, the Head of the Legal Department - Lika Kobaladze and the Acting Deputy Head of the Private Sector Supervision Department - Tengiz Mamulia presented to the employees of the Administration of the Government of Georgia the details of the changes, the main part of which came into force on 1 March.

The speakers gave an overview of important issues such as the mandate of the Personal Data Protection Service, the lawfulness of data processing, the rights of a data subject and the basis for restricting these rights, the lawfulness of data processing with video and audio surveillance, the data protection officer, data breach (incident) notification, etc.

In order to familiarize with the changes outlined in the new law, The Personal Data Protection Service will continue to hold informative meetings to public and private institutions.
