Representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service presented the "Strategic document on the strategy of processing of personal data in the field of education" to the representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia

Representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service introduced the “Strategic Document for Personal Data Processing in The Field of Education” to representatives of the Ministry of Education Science and Youth of Georgia.

The strategic document covers many activities, which the Service is planning to do with support of the Ministry of Education. Some of the activities are: proposition of recommendations and training modules to higher, professional, general and pre-school educational institutions, suggestion of teaching  courses of the law “On Personal Data Protection” to educational institutions, introduction of personal data protection issues into sad the general educational institutions.

Activities considered in the strategic document will help raise awareness of topics related to the right to private life and the effective implementation of the new law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection” in the education sector.

The Head of the President's Office - Nikoloz Popiashvili, Head of the Legal Department - Lika Kobaladze, Head of the Department of the Planned Inspections - Sofio Shamugia, the expert of the Service in the field of education - Tamar Abazadze and Nana Chigladze represented the service. Representatives of the service introduced the changes outlined in the law. Special attention was given to the processing of data relating to a minor.

A Working group created by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia for the purpose of bringing legal acts in conformity with the law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection” attended the meeting. The working group consists of public law lawyers and representatives of other structures.
