In Batumi, representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service met with representatives of the education sector


Representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service held a meeting with representatives of the education sector.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the heads of the regional resource centres of Adjara and Guria, and lawyers.

The main topic of the meeting was the changes in the new Law of Georgia "On Personal Data Protection". In particular, those changes which are very important for representatives of the education sector. Attention was focused on the protection of personal data of minors and the procedure for the appointment of data protection officers.

The Personal Data Protection Service was represented the Deputy Head of the Office of the President - Tengiz Mamulia, the Head of the Department of Administrative - Maia Gogoladze, and the expert of the Service in the field of education - Tamar Abazadze.

The meeting was held in the form of questions and answers. The needs of the education sector in the field of data protection and the organization of additional training in relation to the changes envisaged by the new law were highlighted. The Personal Data Protection Service promised its full support in this matter to the Adjara and Guria of the Heads of the Regional Resource Centres.
