From May 12 to May 16, 2025, Nikoloz Popiashvili, Head of the Office of the President of the Personal Data Protection Service, participated in the EuroDIG platform and the 13th Plenary Session of the Council of Europe's Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAI) in Strasbourg.
EuroDIG (European Dialogue on Internet Governance) is an open platform supported by the Council of Europe, the European Commission, UNESCO, and organizations from various Europe. It was established in 2008 and aims to engage government representatives, non-governmental organizations and field experts in supporting best practices on legal acts and principles regulating the field of public governance and exchange views on alternative approaches.
Within the EuroDIG framework, main topics about personal data protection, including artificial intelligence and neurodata were discussed.
At the 13th Plenary Session of the Council of Europe's Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAI) discussed the impact assessment document for artificial intelligence systems (HUDERIA) and the corresponding methodology (COBRA). Representatives from around 100 countries and organizations from around the world participated in the discussion.
It is noteworthy that the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia has been a member of the Council of Europe's Committee on Artificial Intelligence Experts (CAI) since 2022 and will contribute expert opinions and relevant recommendations during the discussion held at the committee's plenary sessions.
