An introductory working meeting was held between the President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili, the UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia, Didier Trebucq, and Deputy Resident Representative at UNDP Georgia, Nils Christensen


On May 23rd , an introductory working meeting was held between the President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili, the UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia, Didier Trebucq, and Deputy Resident Representative at UNDP Georgia, Nils Christensen.


The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia was also represented at the meeting by the First Deputy President of the Service – Dr. Otar Chakhnashvili; the Head of the President’s Office – Nikoloz Popiashvili; and the Head of International Relations, Analytics, and Strategic Development Department – Ana Tokhadze.


The meeting focused on the mandate, mission, and core principles of the activities of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, as well as its 2025–2028 strategy policy. The matters discussed during the meeting included the Service’s international cooperation, activities carried out to raise public awareness, significant decisions made by the authority, and statistical data from the past three years.


Towards the end of the working meeting, a discussion was held on the matter of the protection of personal data and the right to privacy in Georgia. UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia, Didier Trebucq and UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, Nils Christensen expressed their interest in future cooperation with the Service.
