Representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia held an information meeting with the directors of the public and private schools of Tbilisi.

The meeting discussed the innovations provided by the new Law of Georgia "On Personal Data Protection". Such as: updated grounds of data processing, principles, rights of data subjects, video surveillance. The obligation to appoint a personal data protection officer, the function and duties of the personal data protection officer under the Law of Georgia "On Personal Data Protection" were also discussed.

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and was attended by the heads of 176 public and 107 private schools. The meeting was held in an interactive mode and the public present had the opportunity to get detailed information on issues of interest to them.

Ketevan Kratsashvili, the Head of the Department of Public Sector Oversight of the Personal Data Protection Service, Sofio Shamugia, the Head of the Department of Planned Inspection, and Tamar Abazadze, the expert of the Service in the field of education, informed the audience about the innovations provided by the new Law of Georgia "On Personal Data Protection".
