The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia has conducted another training session on personal data protection for employees of the Ministry of Defence and legal entities under its jurisdiction.
The training covered a general overview of the relevant legal framework, the essence and significance of the right to personal data protection, and the importance of ensuring a fair balance between the right to privacy and public security interests. Key topics included data processing principles, legal grounds for processing, data security, the rights of data subjects, and other recent developments introduced by the Law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection.”
The training content was tailored to the specific functions and responsibilities of the Ministry and its subordinate entities. Delivered in an interactive format, the session also addressed questions of particular relevance and interest to the participants.
The training was conducted by Ia Kipiani, Head of the Department of the Law Enforcement Sector Oversight of the Personal Data Protection Service; Lili Taniashvili, Deputy Head of the same department and Tamar Revazashvili, the Lawyer.
The Personal Data Protection Service will continue to actively organize sector-specific and diverse format trainings to raise awareness and promote compliance with data protection standards.
