As part of its efforts to raise awareness among minors, the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia hosted students from Tbilisi Public School No. 203 (a public school for children who are deaf or hard of hearing).

During the meeting, the students received information about key aspects of personal data protection. They learned about different categories of data, the rights of data subjects, legislative safeguards for their protection, data processing principles and legal grounds, as well as the specific requirements established by law for the processing of special category data.

In an interactive format, participants also received practical recommendations on how to protect themselves in the digital space, including while using the internet, online shopping, and in other everyday situations related to data processing.

The session was led by Tamta Shamugia, Research Analyst at the Department of International Relations, Analytics, and Strategic Development; Nino Khubulia, Coordinator for International Relations and Legal Affairs at the same department; and Tamar Abazadze, Education Expert.
