The Personal Data Protection Service actively participates in the activities of the “Global Privacy Assembly” (“GPA”) and is a member of its numerous sub-platforms, including, the “Data Protection and other Rights and Freedoms Working Group”. Within the group’s framework, “GPA” and the “international human rights organization” (“Access Now - international human rights organization”) in cooperation with each other, worked out the concept of the “Privacy and Human Rights Award”. The purpose of the award is to highlight distinctive initiatives on privacy and human rights at the international and national levels It should be noted that the Personal Data Protection Service was appointed as one of the members of the Award Committee created to announce the winner of the competition.
The competition for the “Privacy and Human Rights Award” will take place from June 17 to September 1 this year and the Award Committee will announce the winner in October. The award ceremony will be held in February 2025 in the capital of Taiwan, Taipei, at the summit hosted by the “international human rights organization” - “RightsCon”
