The representatives of the Personal Data Protection Service participated in the fifth Armenian-Georgian legal forum in Yerevan.

During the Forum, the Head of the President's Office - Nikoloz Popiashvili and the Head of the Department of International Relations, Analyticis and Strategic Development - Ana Tokhadze held a panel discussion on the institutional independence, organisational structure and mechanisms of control over the lawfulness of data processing of the Georgian data protection supervisory authority. They also discussed legislative innovations, public awareness activities and international cooperation.

Grigor Nersisyan, Head of the Personal Data Protection Agency of Armenia, presented the structure of the DPA, international cooperation and public awareness activities. At the plenary session reports were also presented by other employees of the DPA of Armenia.

It should be noted that the parties expressed their readiness to sign a memorandum of cooperation in order to deepen the cooperation.

The Legal Forum lasted for two days and was opened by the Minister of Justice of Georgia together with his Armenian colleague in Yerevan.

During of the two-day working format of the Forum, the representatives of the Human Rights Protection Secretariat of the Government of Georgia, the Personal Data Protection Service, the Mediators Association, the Georgian Bar Association and the Legal Aid Service discussed with their colleagues the achievements and planned innovations.
