8-Day Training Held for Personal Data Protection Officers


The Personal Data Protection Service organized an 8-day training course for Personal Data Protection Officers (DPOs), aimed at enhancing their knowledge and competencies in key areas of data protection.

  • The history and legal basis of personal data protection institutions, including European legislation;
  • Principles and legal bases of data processing;
  • Rights of data subjects;
  • Obligations of data controllers and processors;
  • International data transfers and the procedures for appointing a special representative;
  • The practice of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia;
  • Managing the data processing process in the role of a Data Protection Officer (DPO);
  • Practices of Georgian and European supervisory authorities.

A significant part of the training was dedicated to discussions. Participants had the opportunity to explore current and practical topics.

The training course was led by heads of different departments of the Personal Data Protection Service, which ensured the sharing of both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

The Personal Data Protection Service will continue to actively organize similar meetings in the future.
