The President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia hosted Turkish colleague Dr. Faruk


Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili, President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, hosted Mr. Faruk Bilir, President of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Supervisory Authority, at the Service’s Batumi office.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and exploring future collaboration opportunities. Particular emphasis was placed on the upcoming 34th European Conference of Data Protection Authorities, which will be hosted by Turkey in 2026. In this context, the parties discussed Georgia’s experience in organizing the 31st edition of the conference and shared valuable insights.

The meeting was also attended by Otar Chakhunashvili, First Deputy Head of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia; Ana Tokhadze, Head of the Department of Strategic Development, Analytics, and International Relations; and Nikoloz Popiashvili, Head of the President’s Office.

The Turkish delegation included Commissioner Tamer Aksoy; Kumru DÖNE, Head of Guidance, Research and Corporate Relations Department; and Ahmet miraç Sönmez expert of the Turkish Supervisory Authority.
