The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia conducted an informational meeting in the Sachkhere Municipality, attended by approximately 70 representatives of local self-government bodies.
Participants included heads of structural units of the Sachkhere Municipality City Hall, directors of legal entities established by the municipality, personal data protection officers, and other public officials.
As part of the meeting, Shavleg Todua, Acting Head of the Private Sector Oversight Department, and Avtandil Lepsveridze, Deputy Head of the Department of Planned Inspections, provided participants with detailed information regarding the amendments introduced by the new Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection.
Key topics discussed included the legal grounds for data processing, the rights of data subjects, data breach notification procedures, data protection impact assessments, data security measures, the role of data protection officers, and other essential aspects of the new legislation.
The session was held in an interactive format, allowing participants to ask questions and receive answers on matters of interest.
The event was part of the Personal Data Protection Service’s regional informational campaign, which aimed at strengthening the culture of data protection in the public sector and raising awareness about the new legislation.
