The 47th Global Privacy Assembly Conference is being held in Seoul. By decision of the Assembly members, through a secret ballot, Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili, President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, has been elected as a member of the Executive Committee. The elections included candidates from the supervisory authorities of Brazil and Canada. The election process required candidates to submit a motivational statement and present their vision for the Assembly’s strategic development.
Membership in the GPA Executive Committee represents not only international trust and recognition of the Service, but also an important opportunity to actively contribute to shaping global policy on personal data protection.
“Given the importance of international cooperation in the field of data protection, I fully support the development of strategic communication channels between the Global Privacy Assembly and other relevant platforms. Such cooperation plays a crucial role in the adoption of resolutions and decisions. I am committed to working with colleagues worldwide and contributing to the implementation of the Assembly’s mission and objectives. It is a great honor for me to bring my experience and dedication to the strategic development of the GPA,” stated Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili during the panel on the nomination of new members to the Assembly’s Executive Committee.
